Tukutuku

Me and my buddy Ihaia made a Tukutuku panel together with our kaiako, Matua Punehu.

The name of this tukutuku panel is: Te Whare Pourewa
There are 3 parts to this tukutuku.
The first part awakens the lost koorero of our Maaori gods, it was the big pakanga between the god of peace & the god of war (Tuu & Rongo). When Tuu-mata-uenga went to Taane-Maahuta and asked him for a weapon to defeat his brother Rongomaataane. Taane and Ruru-tangi-aakau gifted their first born son (Te Akerautangi) to Tuu-mata-uenga, it was a weapon of mass destruction, the first ever taiaha born. Rongomaataane went to Tangaroa and asked for a weapon, Tangaroa then sent him to Poutini, the god of green stone, Poutini gifted Rongo Meremere-tuu-ahiahi. The pakanga took place at Poohutukawa, at the end of the battle Tuu-mata-uenga defeated Rongomaataane, the battle was then named Moenga-toto.
The second part is a pattern called ngaa roimata turuturu, the colour blue represents Tangaroa, the reason for the roimata pattern is a sign of sadness to all that have polluted Tangaroa. And also to revive one of the tongikura from Kiingi Taawhiao. “He roimata taku kai i te ao, i te pō”.
The third part to this tukutuku is to honour the brave few Maaori that stood against the many Paakehaa, the Aoraki Maunga pattern shows all the different iwi that were apart of the Rangiriri land wars in 1863! Green represents Waikato Horopounamu, and the other two greens represent Kiingi Taawhiao and Wiremu Tamihana, who led te iwi Maaori at the time of Rangiriri. The blue represents Tauranga Moana. The yellow and red represent the two iwi of Ngai Tuuhoe.

What I did on Saturday.

On Saturday me and Te Mura O Taamaki went to Te Kootuku. In the morning me, waiari, Milan, Tamehana, Erima, Sumuree, Derion went to Te Kootuku to watch a couple of Kapa Haka groups. The groups were Sylvia park kapa Haka group. After they performed we went back to Te Mura O Taamaki to get ready for our performance. After an hour we went back to Te Kootuku. It was scary cause it was almost our turn. We did a karakia. When a kotiro called our name to the stage we were all scared. When we finally got on we performed it was exciting and scary to do because people were cheering.
Anyway after that we got kids can. Kids can is a lunch pack. After we ate, we got changed then we went back to kura. When we went home we played for 5 minutes then whaea-Lee-Ann did a karanga for Te Mura O Taamaki. When we got inside we ate during that Matua Andre would call our names and we would go up to him and get a  Te Mura O Taamaki T-shirt, a box of chocolate and a taaonga. When we finished I went home and went to sleep.

kaitiakitanga

Kia ora...

This is my Kaitiakitanga, and I will be talking about what
kaitiakitanga means to me and why.

I used blue because it represents Tangaroa.

I used red because it represents Tūmatauenga.

I decided to smudge the colors together
because I thought it would look nice and so it
gives a different effect,  it looked very cool and
even Matua liked it so I was surprised.

And what my art means is? ,a taniwha, and a lovely drawing
by me of course.

public or private

This is what I think we all should put online and what shouldn't be online Because if we put private information online other people will find all your private information.

Me and Te Puna Wairua Learnt about what we should put and not put online. We learnt with whaea heather. We watched this video to. Its about these people that like this facebook page photo and they get a free coffee. But when they got there coffee they had all there private information on there cup. Some people looked behind them self to see if anyone was looking and some people keep on looking at there cup. They looked scared and very confused. That's why you need to double check what you put online.
