Huriawa
Ingoa (Name) | Armani Tawhai |
Tapanga (Tittle) | Huriawa |
Kaituhi (Author) | Mahua |
Kaita (Illustrator) | Nuhi Takao |
This Pukapuka is about Huriawa and Parapara fighting over water, as for them they are, Rua nga Taniwha. |
I liked this pukapuka because the pikitia looked amazing, the detail in the Pikitia was cool and look like as if the rua nga Taniwha were real. The pikitia was so detailed I really liked it. My favorite Taniwha was Huriawa because he was the one that owned the awa and won the fight. I think this pukapuka was really cool and honestly made me think of being humble, because when Parapara lost he accepted that he lost and went away, he left Huriawa alone. Kupu Hou: Kokowaitia, Whakawhitia Pautiriao,HInetuahoanga, Waikoropupu, Matakitaki, Waikoropupu, Pupuke, topito |
Rating: 7/10 I give it a whitu because I really liked the Pikitia but I kind of don’t think the Kupu went with the Pikitia. |
Whare tapa wha
Ingoa | |
Tapanga | Whare Tapa Wha! |
Kaituhi | Genera Harrison |
Kaitaa | Kathrine Hall |
The Pukapuka is about Whare Tapa Wha and ako me te Kaitiakitanga. |
Why do I think it's about that? Because a mama and a Tane ma were having time and fun together, I liked it because it makes me think of a family with a healthy relationship. My favourite character is the maamaa. Why? Because she is doing her role by making sure her son is having fun with his life and happy all the time. While I was reading this pukapuka she made me happy. |
Rating: 10/10 Why? Because the Maamaa character is so awesome. She deserves a big fat high five. She is amezing! |
He Pai Te Mahi Tahi
Ingoa (Name) | Armani TAWHAI |
Taapanga (Tittle) | He Pai Te Mahi Tahi |
Kaituhi (Author) | Naa Peti Nohotima |
Kaitaa (Illustrator) | Scott Pearson |
This book is about Mahi tahi, were toru nga tamariki go out searching for ingredients in the forest Rehuta. |
These toru nga tamariki were told by their Maamaa that they needed ingredients for a cake she was making, so there was a guest coming along to visit them. I think the part where they get attacked by a Taniwha was cool. Because the Taniwha had all the ingredients they needed. They all used their Maori minds and thought of how they were going to trick the Taniwha, they tripped the Taniwha and used magic. The way they used it was so cool. The pictures in the book were amazing. Kupu Hou: Rehutai, Tuurehu, Mataimu, Puaawai, Piiataata, Korimoko, Kamakama, Pootiki, Wareware, Porearea, Hukehuke. |
Rating: 9/10 I rate it a Iwa because it's about adventures that me toru tamariki are going on. I think it's really cool, and it reminds me of when I was little and playing with my cousins. |

Introduction that includes 5ws | Today my brother, my mum and my two dogs were chilling at home, me and my mum studying and my baby playing with his toys. |
What happened? | My dogs were outside to go to the toilet, and all of a sudden they saw someone walking past our house, next you hear them two barking their lungs off. |
What else happened? | My mum went outside to get the dogs because the man that was walking past kept yelling at the dogs. |
What else what happened? | My baby brother started crying because he got scared of the dogs barking. I think it was also because he pooped his nappy. |
Conclusion How did you feel? | I felt angry because that man was yelling at my dog, but I also felt sad for him because he was probably having a good day and my dog ruined his day. But when my brother was crying I felt the need to help my mum and make the baby's bottle. |
